Anyone Find Side Sleeping Worse

So I was diagnosed with mild apnea about 8 months back. I was given a machine and it’s totally helped. One thing I’ve noticed though while combing my data is that apnea event count seems higher when sleeping on my side. I know it’s supposed to be better for you but does anyone else find it’s actually worse when they sleep on their side?

Somehow I seem to be collapsing or folding down onto myself. My top arm ends up pushing down in the mattress as I sort of fold in on myself. I wake up with a numb arm and sort sternum. I started noticing when it was easier to just sleep on my back with the mask and then had fewer apnea events with the machine while on my back. Then when I did sleep on my side I’d start looking at the data of a higher AHI pretty consistently even with the machine on.

TLDR: miss sleeping on my side because my lower back is sore, but think I’m weird because sleeping on my side seems worse for me actually. Anyone else?
