Doctor recommendations in Southern California?

Hi guys, I am a 27 yr old guy who snores so loudly that people in other rooms in my apartment can hear me snore. I weigh 145lbs, pretty athletic and maintain an active lifestyle. This is a huge social issue for me in addition to feeling like shit all day due to lack of quality sleep. Last year I had a home sleep study done, the results came back with an AHI of 6, but my pulmonologist said home studies are not super reliable. So, I did a sleep study at a clinic and my AHI was 4.5. So, classified as very mild sleep apnea. I have a CPAP that eliminates the snoring altogether - at least until I rip it off my face in the middle of the night. My pulmonologist told me there's no other solution apart from the CPAP. But I figured that can't be it and I don't want to live my whole life with a machine, not with a barely there sleep apnea. So, my PCP referred me to an oral surgeon, who thinks Maxillomandibular Advancement Surgery will really help my case. I educated myself about the surgery and it seems like a really drastic surgery. I am still thinking about it if I should go ahead with it. I just wanna definitively know if there are less intrusive solutions to my issues.w I got a couple questions for anyone who's been in my shoes and made it out to the other side.

  1. Is there a test to determine exactly where the blockage is that causes the snoring? If yes, what kind of doctor should I see for it? None of the doctors I've seen so far have given a good answer to this question.

  2. Anyone from southern california, can you please recommend a doctor that helped you out with your issues?

Thank you guys, I'll appreciate any responses to my queries!
