I have had trouble with not breathing--usually when I was sleeping on m back. In the past few weeks, however, I've stopped breathing while sleeping in other positions, quite frequently throughout the night. Suffice to say, I probably had very mild apnea, and now it seems to be getting much worse.
I also have a thoracic aortic aneurism and bicuspid aortic valve disease. I've read about a connection between heart diseases and apnea, nothing that one can cause the other, and that apnea puts those with aortic aneurisms at a higher risk of the aorta tearing.
I'm wondering if anyone else has heart conditions or has talked to their cardiologists about the correlation between the too. I'm relatively young (34) and I'm not overweight.
I'm also wondering if any one has ideas for non-CPAP ways of fighting sleep apnea. Breathe Right strips helped a bit. Are there other tips to try?
Thanks so much!
