I've (m36) been using my cpap machine for just under 6months and most of the time I wake up and the nozzle isnt attached or I've ripped the whole mask off of my face. The nurse suggested I use a full face mask, because I cant breath through my nose very well. The doctor said I have mild to moderate sleep apnoea. At the first initial appointment, I complained that the mask let air out and I woke up during the assessment week with the mask seal 'farting' on my face. It was suggested that I wear the mask as tight as I can take it. Apart from the usual side effects of using a cpap, dry mouth, stomach pains, flatulence etc, my problem is that maybe it isnt the right route for me, although initially I was elated at the idea of finally falling to sleep for more than one hour at a time.
