Has anyone with CSA ever gotten better? Without using a machine forever?

It started with bad anxiety and insomnia, and now I cannot fall asleep at all, any time I’m about to, I just stop breathing and am jolted awake. I did a virtual doctor’s appointment and she said it might be CSA, and referred me for a sleep study. But who knows when that will be because of Coronavirus? I’m devastated, I’m only 23 and I can’t stand the thought of sleeping with a machine forever. I also toss and turn a lot and this would be so difficult. Has anyone had their symptoms improve over time? To the point where you don’t need the machine?
