Jaw adjusting retainer as a stopgap?

Recently my sleep apnea has blown up and become full time. I’m going to get a sleep study, but it’s bad timing for obvious reasons.

While I wait for that to happen, I seem to suffer from jaw issues that may be related to my sleep apnea. I heard there was a jaw thing that would keep my lower jaw from falling back into a position that makes things worse.

What are devices like that called, and what kind of device like that should I look into to start?
