I'm on the verge of tears, no one should be afraid of sleeping like this. Please, does anyone have any tips until I try to get a sleep study scheduled on Monday.
Last Saturday I laid down and as I drifted off into sleep, I just GASPED for air. It was scary. I thought it would be just anxiety due to quarantine getting to me. tried to sleep, had the throat tightness but told my brain to shut up with melatonin and past out.
All this week, every night, just about to drift to sleep and I gasp for air, like I've forgotten how to breathe as soon as I'm about to sleep.
I'm now 4 days sleep deprived, cold sores, black eyes, going mentally insane. I'm so scared of sleep now. I tried sleeping upside sideways, on my back, upside down (hanging off the bed, I'm so desperate).
I tried to go to bed at 10 last night and eventually struggled until 4:30 when I past out just out of sheer exhaustion.
It feels like my breath is even lacking during the day, and I feel faint. I have to remind myself to breathe more.
other info, I'm 28, male. 5"10 190lbs, atheltic. take a few meds, one in particular induces sleepiness (seroquel) though I've taken it for 5 years and never had this happen. I don't drink at all, I vape (I don't smoke).
